Sustainable Fitness > Shame Fitnes

Sustainable Fitness > Shame Fitness You don’t need to be in the gym every single day. You don’t need to be on a strict diet 365 days a year. It’s okay to indulge. It’s okay to miss a workout. It’s okay to be human. Somewhere along the way, the fitness industry convinced people that if you miss a lift, eat a burger, or take a rest day… you’re weak. That you’re making excuses. That you “don’t want it bad enough.” Remember that majority of people who are unhappy with their body and their health are in a very very vulnerable place mentally. You telling them “no excuses” and giving them the overused term “hard truth”…isn’t benefiting them.  That’s not discipline. That’s shame marketing. You’ve been sold a one size fits all approach to life and health. But here’s the truth… Not everyone’s schedule looks the same. Not everyone’s stress load is the same. Not everyone’s nervous system responds the same. Not everyone’s mind works the same. And it is NOT as simple as “See how busy I am? I ...

WHAT IS TRUE WEALTH? WHAT DOES IT REALY MEAN TO BE “RICH”?

Image
For me, true wealth will never be defined by the amount of money sitting in my bank account. We live in a world, especially online, where wealth is constantly measured in numbers. Income. Cars. Houses. Watches. Vacations. Followers. There are people on social media who will make you feel “less than” if you do not see wealth the way they do. I have heard it more times than I can count. If you do not equate wealth with money, you must be a loser. You must not have any. You must not have accomplished anything. But I have often wondered if that says more about them than it does about me. Maybe the reason some people cling so tightly to money as the definition of wealth is because it is the only form of wealth they actually have. Maybe the void they feel, the lack of fulfillment, peace, connection, or purpose, is filled with money instead. Ever think of that? Let me be clear. I am not saying money is not important. It is. We need it to survive. We need it to provide. We need it to cre...

Monday Morning Coffee Talk: A Needed Mindset Shift

Monday Morning Coffee Talk: A Needed Mindset Shift You’ve probably heard these phrases before: “You’re not special.” “No one owes you anything.” They’re often said like wisdom. Like motivation. Like a wake up call. But here’s the truth. They miss the mark. And more importantly, they miss people. “You’re not special” Let’s fix that You are not special in the sense that the world revolves around you. But you are special in the sense that no one else has your exact story, scars, strengths, perspective, or purpose. What that quote tries to say is Don’t expect life to hand you anything. But what it sounds like is You don’t matter. And that’s dangerous, especially for people already struggling mentally. A better truth is this: You are not entitled, but you are valuable. Your responsibility is to earn your growth, not to question your worth. You don’t grow by tearing yourself down. You grow by knowing you’re worth the work. “No one owes you anything” Another miss This one gets used to s...
