37 Years of Growth: A Birthday Reflection

Image
37 Years of Growth: A Birthday Reflection Today I turn 37. Another candle on the cake, another year of lessons, and another reminder of just how far I’ve come. Birthdays have a way of making you pause, reflect, and measure the journey. And when I look back at mine, I see one common thread running through it all—the  Keep Going Mentality . Life hasn’t been perfect. In fact, it’s been anything but. There have been seasons of struggle, moments of doubt, and times where giving up seemed easier than pushing forward. But growth doesn’t come from comfort—it comes from persistence. Every challenge I’ve faced, every setback I’ve endured, has been another opportunity to rise, to grow, and to keep going when it would’ve been easier to stop. At 37, I see life with a new perspective. I realize now that growth isn’t about chasing perfection—it’s about embracing progress. It’s about waking up every day and choosing to move forward, even when yesterday felt heavy. It’s about learning from t...

Giving Back Through The Keep Going Mentality Shop

THE KEEP GOING MENTALITY SHOP   Giving Back Through The Keep Going Mentality Shop From the very beginning,  The Keep Going Mentality  has been about more than fitness, mindset, or motivation—it’s about people. It’s about showing up, pushing forward, and knowing that none of us are alone in this fight. That’s why I’m proud to announce something deeply personal and important to me: 👉  50% of the profits from every purchase in The Keep Going Mentality Shop will be donated to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). ⸻ Why NAMI? Mental health is something that has touched my life in ways words can’t fully describe. I’ve seen the battles, I’ve felt the struggles, and I know how heavy the weight can feel when it seems like no one understands. Supporting NAMI means supporting millions of individuals and families who are affected by mental illness every single day. NAMI provides education, resources, advocacy, and—most importantly—hope. And to me, hope is everything. ...

Time, Balance, and What Really Matters

Image
Time, Balance, and What Really Matters Lately, I’ve felt time slipping through my fingers. Between work, responsibilities, and everything life demands, the hours I have to truly be present with my son and family feel so limited. It’s a weight that sits heavy on my chest—the thought of reaching the end of this life and whispering to myself,  “I could have done better. I could have spent more time with him.” We live in a culture that glorifies busyness. We chase the next paycheck, the next achievement, the next responsibility—telling ourselves it’s all for our families. And while there’s truth in that, there’s also a dangerous trap: in the pursuit of “providing,” we sometimes forget that what our loved ones need most is  us.  Not the version of us exhausted at the end of the day, not the distracted us with a phone in hand—but the fully present us, even if only for a short while. The hard reality is that time doesn’t wait. Children grow, seasons change, and the moment...

The Keep Going Mentality: Why Progress Isn’t About Perfection

Image
The Keep Going Mentality: Why Progress Isn’t About Perfection In a world obsessed with quick fixes and flawless results, it’s easy to feel like you’re falling short. Social media shows us highlight reels of shredded bodies, “perfect” families, and people who seem to have life completely figured out. But here’s the truth: perfection isn’t the goal—and it never should be. The  Keep Going Mentality  is about understanding that real progress is built in the messy middle. It’s in the days when you don’t feel like showing up but still lace up your shoes. It’s in the meals where you choose something nourishing when you could’ve gone for something easier. It’s in the moments you choose to respond with patience instead of letting anger take over. Progress is Built in Imperfection The reality is that nobody gets it right every time. You will miss workouts. You will have off days with your nutrition. You will feel mentally drained and wonder if you’re even moving forward. That’s n...

Letting Go: The Growth That Comes From Releasing What No Longer Serves You

Image
Letting Go: The Growth That Comes From Releasing What No Longer Serves You Growth isn’t always about adding more to your life. It’s often about letting go. One of the hardest but most freeing parts of personal evolution is realizing that not everything or everyone that once served you still deserves a place in your life today. When you’re younger, or simply in a different chapter, you build habits, routines, friendships, and even belief systems that help you survive, learn, and adapt. At the time, they serve their purpose. But as you grow, those same things can begin to feel heavy. What once filled your cup may now leave it empty. The truth is, you can’t step into the life you want to live if you’re weighed down by what no longer aligns with who you are becoming. Old habits, toxic relationships, unfulfilling jobs, unhealthy coping mechanisms—all of these may have once been part of your story, but they don’t have to be part of your future. Letting go isn’t about failure or abandon...

Imagine Reading a Book With No Way to Turn Back

Image
Imagine Reading a Book With No Way to Turn Back “Imagine reading a book with no way to turn the page back. How carefully would you read it? That’s life.” Life has no rewind button. Every moment you live, every word you speak, every choice you make becomes ink on the page of your story. There’s no flipping back to erase, edit, or relive it. And maybe that’s the beauty of it. Living With Intention If you knew you couldn’t reread a single page, wouldn’t you slow down? Wouldn’t you savor the words more, underline what mattered, and pause to let the meaning sink in? That’s how we should approach each day. Life isn’t meant to be rushed through like skimming a chapter you’re not interested in. It’s meant to be lived with care, with focus, and with gratitude. The Power of the Present Page Too often we get caught up in regrets about the past or anxieties about the future. But when you think of life as a book with no way to go back, the truth hits you: the only page you have control over i...

Why I’m Starting The Keep Going Mentality Podcast

Why I’m Starting The Keep Going Mentality Podcast When I started sharing my thoughts on fitness, mental health, and personal growth, I knew it wouldn’t always be easy. The truth is—when you step out and try to create something meaningful, there will always be people who laugh, criticize, or mock what you’re doing. That’s just the way the world works. But here’s the thing: I’m not doing this for them. I’m starting  The Keep Going Mentality  podcast because I believe in the power of sharing stories, lessons, and encouragement. Life can feel overwhelming, isolating, and heavy—but sometimes, hearing the right words at the right time can change everything. If just  one person  listens and decides to take their health seriously, to heal their mind, or to keep pushing forward when life tries to break them—then every ounce of effort I put into this podcast is worth it. This isn’t about being perfect, pretending I have all the answers, or trying to impress anyone. This is abo...
