“You Deserve Better – And God Knows It”
We’ve all heard the phrase — or maybe we’ve said it ourselves — “I deserve better” or “I deserved better.”
Those words often come in the middle of heartbreak, disappointment, betrayal, or loss. They’re whispered after walking away from a toxic relationship. They’re muttered when we’re left staring at the wreckage of something we thought would last forever. They’re sighed when we realize someone didn’t treat us the way we should have been treated.
And here’s the truth — you did deserve better. You do deserve better. And God knew it before you did.
Sometimes we think the situations we lose are punishments, but more often than not, they are protection. God doesn’t remove people, opportunities, or circumstances from our lives just for the sake of taking them away. He does it because He knows what’s ahead. He knows what’s in your heart. And He knows the love, respect, peace, and joy you are worthy of — even when you’ve forgotten it yourself.
When something ends, it’s not always because you failed. Many times, it’s because you’ve outgrown what was meant to be temporary. You’ve learned the lesson, lived the season, and now it’s time for the next chapter. God isn’t in the business of keeping His children trapped in less than they deserve. He will close doors you wouldn’t have the strength to close on your own.
That’s not cruelty.
That’s love.
Your heartbreak? It’s not random. It’s a divine redirection.
Your loss? It’s the space being cleared for something more aligned with who you truly are.
Your disappointment? It’s the gentle nudge that you were settling for less than the life He has planned for you.
It hurts, yes. But pain often comes with purpose. And the purpose here is growth — not just to realize you deserve better, but to believe it deep enough that you never settle again.
So when you look back and think, “I deserved better,” know this: God agreed with you. That’s why He wrote that ending into your story.
And when you stand in the future He’s building for you — stronger, wiser, and more whole — you’ll thank Him for the things He took away just as much as for the blessings He gave.
Because sometimes, the greatest act of love God shows us…
is removing what was never meant to stay.
